Strophostyles leiosperma, or Small Fuzzy Bean, is native to the Central US, and parts of Eastern half of the US. It is a small annual that grows in moist soils of woods as well as along lake shores. It blooms from late summer into early fall, with small pink-purple flowers.
This plant looks similar to some other members of the genus. More information will be posted at a later time about differentiating other species.
